On a whim, I decided to search YouTube today to see if there were any amusing Transformers parody vids. I found one that was able to give me a few chuckles.

  • 03.22.07 proposed new tag: IMG posted in geekery, www

A friend pointed me to this archived bit of web history. It’s about the folks behind Mosaic suggesting a new tag for the burgeoning HTML.

    Awesome. Read it.

  • 02.19.07 Eagles Fly on IYI posted in comedy, personal, www

I haven’t laughed like this in a long time. Seems there was a mishap during the editing process, and this program lost half of their eagle footage. So, they wrote a song to help fill time. Brilliantly funny.

  • 11.17.06 Dora set to explora the back doora posted in comedy, personal, the peculiar, www

The fine folks at BoingBoing linked to this today. It’s astonishing. Clearly, somebody in the Aquapet marketing department missed the ball on this one.

Cousin Marc decided to visit the company’s product page and found Lugi. A green Aquapet that dislikes fingers. This snot-ball must be targeted towards boys.

  • 09.15.06 Search Craigslist like a mad man posted in geekery, www

Well, you can’t really search everywhere at craigslist. And that’s a lo-down dirty shame. A week ago I wanted to do a nationwide search for an old Dodge A100. I figured if the price was right, I’d turn a potential purchase into an adventurous road trip. But nay, craigslist has no option to search the nation. So… I turned to Google. And much to my satisfaction, I came upon crazedlist.org (clever name, no?). This site basically does some reciprocal searching of all regions in craigslist, and posts the result links for you to choose from. It takes awhile to get through all 50 states, but the results are hard to argue with. So, go. Search it all.

  • 09.08.06 High Tech Noon posted in comedy, geekery, www

Simply put, there needs to be more vids like this one. There will always be a place in my heart for creative anachronism. Especially when it involves future-tech and cowboys. As you might be able to guess by the title, this vid is a re-edit of the classic film “High Noon” starring Gary Cooper. Only this time around, there are lazers and deflector shields. ROCK!

This has GOT to be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in awhile. What gets me most is the guy’s anguished groans and repeated refusals to comply with the officer on the scene.

  • 08.22.06 Pitfall + Skateboarding = AWESOME! posted in comedy, geekery, www

    Skatefall

Forget the fact that I can’t earn a single point in this game. And forget the fact that I can’t roll 5 feet on a skateboard in the real world. It’s PITFALL! On wheels! In the city! I loved Pitfall so much as a kid, that my brother and I used to play our own version of Pitfall in our living room. It involed pillows and us rolling around on the floor like logs. Hours of fun, I tells ya. Hours!

  • 08.08.06 O RLY? posted in comedy, geekery, the peculiar, www

    Get your geek on.

Lately, I’ve been re-acquainting myself to the now age-old geek expression “O RLY?” Mostly because it happens to coincide with my life-long love of owls (If it were at all practical, I would be a falconer with an owl for my falcon). About a week ago, I found a great O RLY-themend YTMND page, BanjO RLY. Just looking at the background image makes me laugh, but the banjo music certainly doesn’t hurt none.

So, yeah… I embarked on a short search to find the source image of the now classic O RLY snow owl and found it linked from the above linked Wikipedia entry. In the process, I cam across a website with a whole slew of variations on a theme — www.orlyowl.com. My favorite might be ITSA RLY. But props must also be given to O RLEMENTE and YARR RLY.
