  • 12.28.08 Christmas, part 2 posted in personal

After returning home from Sarah’s family, we had some more Christmas. Nora opened the rest of her presents and emptied her stocking. She probably had more fun with the stocking… going so far as to open our stockings for us, too.

The big prize was her new bedroom set. Santa really splurged on that one.

Nora wasn’t quite as impressed with the tree on Christmas morning. Mayhaps because the tree was engorged already the night before. So much for impressing her with the “no presents today, lots of presents tomorrow” magic of Santa.

At least she enjoyed opening her presents and emptying her stocking.

In a sad shift of tradition, we had sammiches and baked beans and Grandpa Moen’s this year instead of the usual Lutefisk.

On the plus side, the father-in-law managed to nab me an old Leinenkugel’s bar sign. One of the big ones that hangs outside. It’s glorious!

We went to the ‘Enchanted Forest’ at the local Menards… HUUUUUUGE disappointment, but Nora loved it anyhow. If only it were so easy to please, Sarah.

Later in the day, we had perfect snow for snowman-building. So, Nora and I started rolling boulders. Sarah got some rocks and a baby carrot for the eyes, nose and mouth. Nora named him ‘Frosty.’

And that afternoon, Sarah’s mother and sister came over to help Nora make some more cookies. Nora really enjoyed unwrapping the Hershey Kisses. So much so that she unwrapped about 30 extra.

If you are wondering about the orange and purple sprinkles… we forgot to get the holiday variety. As a result, we had to rely on some Halloween sprinkles.

You must be 18 years of age to view/eat the last 2 cookies.
